Air Gap Tool - Electronic Ignition

I'm about to install a new module in my electronic ignition kit, and I'm guessing I'll have to re-set the air gap. Unfortunately, I somehow misplaced the gapper tool.

Are there any suggestions on what I could use as a substitute for the gauge, as opposed to the supplied tool? Digital calipers?

This is a long shot, and a huge favor to ask, but are there any kind fellow EI conversion people who may be willing to help me out by sending me a gap tool? I'd be happy to pay for shipping and return it, and I promise not to lose this one. Thanks!

Spark plug gap tester works good most of the time. If not, I paid $6 for a gap set at Pep Boys a few weeks back

That's a good idea. Do you happen to remember what the spec is for the gap?

Thanks for the info, J. I've been bugging the guys at DIM so much lately, that I wanted to give them a break for a few minutes .

I bet someone here will help out soon. Hopefully I can repay the favor in assistance back when needed.

I wouldn't worry about it Pete. Those guys are the greatest in the world and genuinely good people. They won't mind helping out a fellow water enthusiast.
They know me by name when I call and know about everything on my boat.

You got that right, J. The people at DIM at great, and it's nice to see companies still around who emphasize customer service to this degree.

We'll wait to see if our fellow Team Talk boys to come through in the next few hours, and if I don't hear much back I'll give them a shout. Thanks again.

Perfect, Brn. Thanks. I'll pick up a feeler gauge set at the auto parts store, and dial it in.

I've been going back and forth between 12v and 8v to the coil during diagnostics, and it's amazing how much the timing changes. Needless to say, I've become experienced at timing adjustments.
