Simple oil question

02 Mercruiser mag tow sports

dealer calls for Mercury MerCruiser Full-Synthetic Engine Oil, 20W-40, NMMC FC-W rated

Whats the best option on this thing weight wise? NC here so the summers get a wee bit warm

Ps oil pressure is alil low right now so not sure how that comes into play

Follow MerCruiser's recommendations. They sell their product around the world, in environments much more demanding than NC. They know a little about engines, trust their advice.

Not sure about your question and while we are at it I have one of my own...I have the 6 litre and

it calls for Penzoil 15w - 40w and the only product i can find is Diesel engine oil.

Is it all right to use this??? I kind of remember someone saying Rotella 15-40 was good...also

thought Synthetic oils are not the best for Marine applications???

Was not really looking at doing fully synthetic is my thing. Didn't know if I should stick with that and if not the weight to go for
