I'd call Jason or Spencer at wakemakers.com. They'll have some great ideas and everything you'll need to get the job done. With their over-the-phone help, I'm just finishing up an install of nearly 2400 lbs (rear hard tanks removed) in my '03 X-30 that will fill in about 10.5 minutes.

I would add the largest sacs on top of stock you can fit easily in the rear lockers. Be careful though I have seen hulls with too much weight in the rear vs sinking the boat and the surf wave just washes over. (Not a Good Curl) The nice thing to me with the bag on top of the stock it makes it pretty easy to adjust your weight. I would also add a 350# or larger to your walkway, this helps extend the sweet spot back. I was pretty lucky on my X2, 400# on top of stock and the 350# down the walkway any the wave is sweet! Adding the walkway bag on top of the KGB made all the difference in the world pushing the curl back 4' or so!

I bought two 550 # fly high sacs for my rear lockers as well as a 1250 fly high L shaped surf sack. It allowed me some flexibility. When I want to surf I fill up the 1250 sac and put a 550 up in the bow. when I want to wake board I fill up the factory ballast, the two 550 sacs in the rear locker and run the surf sac about 60% full up the middle of the boat in to the bow. it gives me a great wakeoard wake. I only started surfing about 2 weeks ago. I am still getting that dialed in but I am making good progress, got the surf wake up to about 4 ft with some good roll. FYI... 03 X30,

the x30 has the ballast tanks high on the gunnels so u cant addto the top of them just in the compartment beside the engine on both sides.

I'm keeping the 2nd one for now. I doubt I'll end up wanting it but want to make sure the wake is where I want it with what I've plumbed in before getting rid of the Tsunami pump and both 400# bags. Had a tubesac as well but used than in place of the stock KGB bag so I could go with all 1" hose and fittings.
Agree with the other comments on here... need to add some weight in the front if you add more in the back. |
