Just took the boat out and turning right was sticky. It a 96 205, and before this I greased the steering cable bushings and it works perfect out of the water before and after the ride. Any ideas?

There is a zerk on the steering cable. and also one on the rudder. if you greased both. and its hard under power. you are probably in need of a new cable. On my 1993 thats how it went. it was easy with the boat out of water. but was hard. underway. new cable fixed the problem. call Baws and they will hook you up with a new one.

I thought I might need to replace it so I looked at the cable and all I could find was tele flex. No part number. Called my MD dealer and she said it could be one of 2. Any ideas?

Try pumping up the rudder post fitting before you buy a cable. My '83 acted just the same and that solved the problem.

Where are the zerk fittings on your '83?

My boat has one on the rudder port under the gas tank.
