Questions about Sundeck base replacement (pic included)

Hi All,
I am getting ready to replace the base of my sundeck with 3/4 polypropylene a friend of mine was able to get for me. I dont think using staples will be an option though due to the density and dont want it to chip near the edges. Any creative thoughts on how to put it all together or do you think staples will work? Anybody have experience with using this material?

I used it for dividers for bags in the engine compartment, I wouldn't trust staples, I used stainless steel screws with washers.

I was messing with it today and thats the plan. I am going to use small wood screws, drill pilot holes and use washers as well. It should work perfect....Thanks!
