Yeah, I know there are automated CAPTCHA readers out there. Kind of sad, they were developed for use by blind users and this is what they get used for.

If email is turned on then the spammers shouldn't be spoofing their IP addresses so Phil could manually add their entire subnet mask to the ban list.

Well, I don't know the admin personally so I'm not sure of his skill set when dealing with IMO related task or his level of access to ROOT. If it's a hosted site then he could still talk with the hosting company about ROOT level additions to help solve the issue. But, I don't think it even needs to go that far.

If it's a time issue, then just turn on queued registrations or give MODs limited access to the ban list so they can start adding URLs and IPs (if they feel comfortable doing so).

As ham-stringed as the MODs are here I would not want to be one, nor is it fair to expect them to police 200 spammers and all of their post each and every day.

What's worse is the spammers have adjusted their scripts to this site to the point of doing replies to post and not just new post. At this point they could really turn it up on the post count. It seems they are getting most of their work done in about an hour. Just imagine if they left the script running 24/7.


The worst part is they have started adding pornographic photos to the site. Normally my daughter is my office area watching a movie or what not so I don't even open this site while she is in the room. Like I said, how that they are adding replies, no thread is safe.

If at nothing else, turn on queued registration and check it once a day. As soon as the spammers see that their efforts aren't working they will remove the TT url from the script and move on to an easier site.

I would be more then happy to filter the que daily if it would help.
