Dashboard Vinyl
I'm sure that this has come up before, but has anybody had any luck trying to restore the dashboard of a '91 or similar PS190? Mine is cracking where some of the scres go in, and the vinyl has some rips. I'd like to replace all of the guage panels as well, but I've already gotten some ideas from the site to use aluminum or a few other materials that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Get it sprayed with bedliner. BriEOD can offer some more info on the subject.

What about taking the dash off and taking it to an upholstery shop and having them redo the vinyl. You could make any repairs to the holes first and they should be able to re heat form fit the vinyl.

I thought about that, too. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, I'll probably wait until next winter, but I'd like to start getting some ideas now.

Thanks, Brian. I knew you could tell that story better than I. The only things I've ever had sprayed with bedliner were the rollers on my prop guard. My driveway chewed that stuff off there in one trip down the driveway.

Did the friend remove the old vinyl first or did he put the bed liner on the vinyl?

Ok just so I understand you let me try and be more specific. His dash looks just like mine in this photo(don't quote me but I think it is a 91' BF 200). He took it out of the boat and removed all the guages, hardware, etc so it was just the dash and took it to the spray shop. The sprayed bedliner right over it. He didn't remove anything or do any prep. It covered all the cracks, fading, etc. It looks just like the inside of my engine box in the the photo below.
