Which impeller puller

I want to get an impeller puller but I'm not sure which size. Jabsco has the following:
Jabsco 50070-0040 Marine Impeller Puller (Up to 2.5" Diameter)
Jabsco 50070-0200 Marine Impeller Puller (2.5" to 4.5" Diameter)
Jabsco 50070-0080 Marine Impeller Puller (Compact, Up to 2.25" Diameter)
I have an 2010 X-15 with 5.7 MCX. Anyone know which size puller would be best?

I thought about it some more and although a tool would be nice I figured it would be simple enough to make one and save quote a bit of $. Parts I used:

2 x Paint can openers
4 x Fender washers
3 x Wing nuts
1 x bolt & nut
1 x mending strap

Without permanently attaching the fender washers to the paint can openers the thing was just a little too wobbly to work with. So I ended up silver soldering the inside fender washers to the paint can openers. Less wobbly and easier to work with. This allowed me to pull the impeller out with ease.

The parts above totaled $6.19 at my local hardware store. The silver solder I had laying around the house.

I simply use needlenose piers..... Never had a issue...

Nice work! Your little tool looks like it will work great.

A little spray of 100% silicon and a flick of the ignition to spread it around can make a huge difference as well. I use ring expander pliers on the inside of the hub, that way I don't worry about messing up the rubber.

Just curious, on some impellers there is a key on the spindle. Can I use a pair of needle nose on this type or do i need puller? I have a 2001 LTR but I think it has a key. It looks similar to the one in the pics above. Anyone have any experience with this type? I plan on replacing the impeller. So if i mess it up, no problem, I'm replacing. This spring, do a just spray the spindle with silicone or nothing or some form of lubricant before installing the new one?

Removing with the home made tool left very little damage to the rubber. Definately usable as a spare for next season. I was worried if I removed it with pliers that it would damage the splines on the hub. Also on my X-15 the impeller is not so easy to access since it is facing the rear. The tool makes it easy as pie. Simply insert into the housing, spin the wing nut until it has a good grab and then just pull. I literally had the thing out in about 30 seconds. Figuring that I have 3 ballast impellers as well this will be a real time saver. For $6.19 in cost it was really a no-brainer.
