It came that way? I have never seen that left in place like that.

Yes the previous owner used to lift it out of the water everytime he used it which is why I think the outside is in such great shape. I know a lot of people seem to be against doing this but the guy had done it for 25+ years with zero ill effects. The hull is perfect, you have all seen the inside no buckling or stress cracks, so I really dont know much more about this.

Steering cable is on the to do list as well as battery with stereo ect but for now I have alot left to clean, if you knew me you would understand. I washed the shopvac after using it today LOL!

It's just that I have never seen that particular setup for lifting, from the factory. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Nothing wrong with boat hoists. I'm just surprised at the modification. The typical set up utilizes a spreader bar or sling cables and the transom "D" rings. Are you going to "hang" the boat?

No hanging for me, well maybe just to buff the hull and wax it but thats it. It will go on a traditional shore station lift.

Im in the same boat (literally) lol. Mine looks great and is not getting stiff to operate but I am in there and it would suck to have it go on the lake soooooo.

Lookin' good! Now get to the store and buy 7' of hose for your bilge pump. All that oil and grime inside of the old one is eventually gonna make its way back into your freshly cleaned hull.

If your cable is original, I'd go ahead and replace it (under the circumstances of having the boat apart to the point that is shown in the pics). Easier to deal with and a necessity sooner or later.
