Bimini Tops

http://www.johnsonbimini.com/

Anyone ordered one from them? Some nice looking tops, I like the 2 tone.

I have one.... it was already installed on my '95 PS 190. All of my bud's who have bimini's don't have a Johnson & wish they did. Nothing beats quality. Mine has a zipper going down the center. That really leaves out a lot of air at barefoot speeds. No flapping or anything - tight as a drum.

does that help?

Jimmer can you offer a photo. My top goes in (maybe) this weekend for new cloth. The zipper sounds interesting . I am collecting a few photos to talk about the final design with the bimini guy..

I've had three different Johnson biminis, all good quality and never had any problems. They are a couple of miles from my house so I bought direct and had them custom fit about 10 years ago. My latest Johnson bimini was for my 209. The dealer in Pleasonton that sold me the boat sells them with Johnson biminis (not Mastercraft, although you can order them). When I tried to end run the dealer and go direct to Johnson, they quoted what I considered to be a very high price. I haggled with the dealer and they took care of me in a package deal.

I have one that I ordered off of Overton's. It does the trick, but I'm not totally satisfied with how tight it is. Plus I like the multi color, that is cool!

I will try to get a pic... been meaning to get one. I'm working till dark tonight, so it'll be tomorrow after work at the earliest before I can take a pic & Thurs before I can post. Sorry.

FWIW - the zipper runs bow to stern direction down the middle of both halves (front half & back half in a 3-bar system).

np mark.... glad to help.

I don't know if it was a special order or not - it was on the boat when I bought it. Can't imagine it would be hard to get done "after the fact" at a local canvas shop....

What's the purpose of the zipper? I guess it would come in handy if you had a Skylon, but other than that I can't figure out what it would be used for. I got a quote from Johnson, but they were quite a bit more expensive than coversearch.com. I'm sure that Johnson makes some very nice tops, but I couldn't justify the difference on a 10-year old boat. I've been very satisfied with my top; I love the sun protection (a necessity with young children), but it still makes the boat feel cramped IMHO (of course, I also have claustrophobia).
