Please help

While out yesterday enjoying the beautiful sunset my wife and I had the radio on for +/- 45 minutes when it died. I tried starting the motor only to find out the battery was dead. Fortunately I had a spare on board. Can it be that the radio and amplifier can drain a battery that quick. With dual batteries does this mean I will only get double the time? Is there a way to disconnect the amp?

Does seem pretty fast. Maybe your battery isnt holding a charge so it's weak to begin with? Maybe your alternator isn't charging?

You need to read the infamous "Official Dual Battery Thread". No worries. There are good solutions for you. And you won't be stuck with just "double" capacity as a fix. Good luck.
