Air flow on 197?

Where does a 197 engine gets its outside air from? My 1994 205 had 2 vents on each side in the front. My 197 seems to only have an air intake on the transom. Doesn't seem very efficient to me. Does the air come from somewhere in the front of the boat?

If you have the split engine cal there is an opening between the hinges under the cup holders.

It's really not visible looking straight at the back of it cause the way MasterCraft designed it.

Run your hand between the carpeted and section under the cup holders between the upper set of hinges where the top half of the engine cal would hing open. There is about a 12"x1-1/2" opening.
