Hewitt Lift Mods any Help?
I was asked by the neighbor this weekend to help him filp his lift to the other side of the dock. He has a Hewitt Model 2001 wench and I think we have the cable in a bind. Has anyone changed the wench location on their Hewitt Cantilever lift from port to starboard? I have a shorestation so I could only provide advice and muscle.
Tried to search for a .pdf but none found. Any one know where I can find a step by step to make this wench work on the starboard side? Thanks Kevin |

I did that to my Hewitt cantilever back in the day. I didn't have any instructions, I just swapped everything over. Sorry, no real advice, just letting you know I did it. I also swapped the old 12:1 winch it came with for the 20:1 which made a remarkable difference in ease of manually cranking the wheel.

We have two Hewitt lifts and the one for our pontoon boat is a cantilever lift, but I would just have the dealer come out and do it...

Looks like the pully needs to move forward to keep the wench inline with the cable. Also looks like we need to move the wench to the bow side of the column. If you have two lifts is one set up on each side of the dock or do you have them both the same?

one on each side of the dock, we have had great service from the local rep. that's why I suggested just having them do it...
