Question 2001 xstar tight steering

We just purchased a 2001 xstar. The steering wheel is hard to turn and the seller mentioned it was harded than normal in the water as well. Any ideas what the problem might be. we greased a few things easy to get to, did not make miuch of a difference.

Hi KC. Glad you made it over. Have you tried using the search feature yet? Using that will allow you to bring up posts in threads that have tight steering. Did you figure out your other problem?

Anyone else have any ideas to help out here? Could it be a bad steering cable? Rudder issues?

2001 x star

yes, thank you for passing the info on this site over. Although we are not new to boating, we are new to mastercraft and v drives, but very happy to be! Yes, will check out the cable, everything else seems to be in order. Seller called us back and said he feels bad that we are not on the water, and is paying for our new battery, and the steering problem. If we still aren't satified, he said bring it back to him, they have not cashed our check. We are relieved, think we just have a minor problem on our hands, and a good seller to back it up.

2001 x star starter troubles

Well, now the starter has fried. wondering if this is a lemon. The seller has told us if we are unhappy to bring it back. Not sure if these are little things that need attention, or the start of a whole lot of problems!
