87-89 Prostar 190 Owners

I am currently talking to someone about creating new dash switch panels for my boat as mine have the edges by the screws broken and cracked. This is a relatively expensive undertaking for a 1-off project. Would anyone else be interested in joining me on this and buying some of these? I am told the main expense is in setting up the CAD templates. Once that is done the pieces themselves are rather inexpensive.

Please let me know if you are interested and if anyone has an idea of what these should cost I would love to hear it.

This is the website of the guy I am talking to if anyone has any comments on his work.

Thanks.

I have the same broken corners on my '89. What kind of price are they giving you? What material? Polycarbonate probably, but it is stiff and will crack again. I think UHMW would be better, more flexible.
Are they going to put all the lettering on the panels?

If the lettering is on the panels, I'm interested. If no lettering, I'd consider it only if they were cheap.
Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Kevin

what he told me is he uses a black UV stable material with a white core...he then cuts away the black outer plate to reveal the white core with the lettering on it so it is something that can never wear off or peel.

My company actually does that for signs but we cannot cut out the holes for the switches and gauges.

Here is an example

ALso, if any of you have pics of your panels handy and could shoot me an email (skmcnair@hotmail.com) I could get them to him for a better quote. My boat is at the lakehouse so I won't be able to get pics until next week.

My corners are broken as well. I might be interested, depending on price. Are we also talking about the left side panel or just the switches panel on the right?

Both panels. I am waiting on the quote. I wish I had a pic of the left side panel like was posted above of the switch panel. That would make it much easier.
