Stereo Moisture and Malfunction...Need Help

Here is my problem. I'm running a 2004 Prostar 197. When I bought the boat, I had the dealer install a stereo (Clarion M275), which they put into the glove box behind the passenger. The faceplate controls are in the glovebox, but the head-unit sticks out into the main storage area under the passenger seat. Anyway, it's quite wet down there, mainly due to the cup holders on the dash having drainage holes (the rain collects, drips down into the storage area). But it also gets wet during usage when I store wet ropes and such.

So, I pulled the boat out of storage and my stereo is kaput (I replaced the fuse, replaced the faceplate), I'm guessing due to the collected moisture down there. So, are there any suggestions? Any problems with plugging up the holes in the cup holders?
