LY 6 questions

I was sure this must have been discussed, but the search engine for the forum did not pull up any threads---so a couple questions out of curiosity:

The LY 6 engine option over say the MCX: what is price difference from MC

What does it do to boat value for resale for say a 3 year old boat?

thanks..

I think the LY6 is a couple grand difference over the MCX...not like $1k or $2k but rather
$5k to $6k...I think.

The resale value depends on a number of things...

1-How well was the LY6 taken care of?
2-What boat is it in?
3-Is the boat (or will the boat be) for sale in a market that has demand for boats with that setup.

I am sure there are a few more to come...

I was told the LY6 was a 6K upgrade from the MCX and the L18 is a 9K upgrade over the LY6.

Depends on what your putting it in. MCX usually $1,500 above the RPT, LY6 6k, and L18 (was) a 12k option.

X-Aggie is right on the $$ amounts. There are so many MCX's out there that generally speaking it won't get you a $ bump at resale. The LY6 will and the daddy (L18) will get you even more.

Not to Jack the thread (but doing it anyway)!!!

Why did MasterCraft take the L18 option away from 190/197 back in 03 or 04 I think it was.

True enough. Perhaps there weren't enough customers opting for the 8.1L?
