Also, the engine is in a '75 S&S, so should i use regular unleaded gas only? And what cylinder do you time a 351 Windsor on?
I'm new to this engine and boat so i've got alot of questions....thanks guys.

Official 5 quarts, with filter change. I have drained 7 quarts, out of my old Tristar. (Sometimes, the wrong dipsticks are installed.)

I personally, warm up engine (running a fakelake). drop the drain hose, thru the hull drain hole. Let it drain over nite.

Pour in 4.5 quarts. Check oil level.

I use reg 87 gas. You time the boat on the #1 wire. It is the cylinder that is behind the alternator. Time it to 10deg btdc. I ran mine and was perfect. You dont want it too lean.

I dumped in 4.5 quarts including the oil filter and the dipstick said full. I assumed it was because I didn't get 1/2 quart out when I drained it. I check the oil every time before I start it to make sure it still reads full.
