Unhappy Need a new motor.

I have a 1992 prostar 205. The block is cracked and needs replaceing. My question is the s/n says that it has a 6.0 in it. What is the difference between the 6.0 and 5.8 that I see on the internet?

Will a 351 5.8 block work on the 6.0 351 in my boat know?

That's the HIN (hull identification number), you may need the engine S/N and then contact Indmar to find out for sure what it really is, http://www.indmar.com/About/ContactIndmar/index.html

You have a FORD 351. You need to determine if you have a HO motor which is 285 HP or a base motor which is 240 HP. The HO has GT-40 heads and the castings #s can be seen if you take the valve covers off

I see that you are in the SE. If we can be of service please let me know

Thanks

these are GT-40 heads. Not the four lines on the end of the head.

Those are not GT40 heads- theyre GT40p heads. GT40 heads have 3 lines.

Please call Jim for any parts or service. Jim or Chuck at BAWS will hook you up!!! good price and PERFECT CS. Even if you have the 240 hp 351, you can put the GT40 heads on it.
