Back Binding F1 ski
ok, so have been without a boat for the last 3 years and now getting back into skiing.
I have an F1 ski with 2 double boots the problem is that my father was having trouble getting up with 2 boots so he ended up taking a razor blade to the back boot!!!! to some how make it into a slip on. I want the boot back. so I am looking for rear boot for an f1 ski. or a good place to find one. size large or extra large. Maybe some one else was having trouble and has an extra back boot hanging around. after purchases a real slip in rear boot. |

Maybe check out www.ski-it-again.com
Remember though Connelly change the hole pattern a few years ago, so depending on how old your F1 is, that will matter on buying one that will bolt right up without having to modify it to much.

I have a friend with a few year old F-1 and is dealing with the same thing. Pattern advice is right on. I told him to modify the plate or drill the ski. He seems hesitant to drill the ski. I don't get it, it's not like it's a 1,400.00 blank and IMO there should be no reason; if he's careful and fills the old holes it should be fine, right? Maybe I'm from the old school, but I never used to be afraid to drill or tune my skis.

After my last post I had a flashback to my most primitive wrap repair ever. I was at a 3 round tournament that used to be held in Greely, CO called the "Softwake Open" if I recall correctly. I ripped my wrap (rear) on my old Mastercraft Lapoint Mirage ski in practice and was bummed I had ruined my weekend. I made a run to a tire shop, they gave me a few old blown tubes and I went to work with a pencil using the old wrap as a pattern. I had to double the tube to get the tension right but it worked like a charm and I skied it for another 3 weeks until the new one came in. It was funny looking and I even intentionally left some of the writting on the tube visible and people got a good laugh out of it. People suggested electrical ties and shoestrings, but nothing beats a firestone lol.

Which bindings are on the ski?
There have been a few, iirc the most likely are either Stoker wraps or Vision plates? Old ones being yellow with a little ratchet strap thing across the toe? Does that sound right? Anyhow the old binding parts were NLA when I tried getting them from wileys and wiley's called connelly to try to see if there were parts. I ended up buying a Wiley's highwrap if you don't want to spend alot of change, and then in the future you'll never have to think about where to buy overlays etc. I do have a stoker rear in my closet, size large, I'll check to see if the overlay is torn very badly. |

A couple years after I got my F1 I tore my back binding. Called Connelly direct and they sent me out a replacement at no charge. That was a couple years ago now and they may not still make the same binding, but it is worth a try. I just looked up the number on the internet and asked for customer support.
