boat to boat towing?

I was out this weekend and came across a BU with about 7 people on it dead in the water. I have a 1991 PS 190 where would you tie the rope when towing another boat? I used one of the transom eyes. Of course I only idled the 15 minutes back to the marina.
Where would you have towed from?

I had to tow my buddies 93-190 back and used the tow hook on the back of my 91-190

Lifting eyes on the stern are always fine, but I've always used the towing eye on the stern grab bar.

Single Brindle from the lift eyes on towboat, to bow eye on vessel being towed. Applied with libral use of common sense.

I had a guy that claims he used to work for a boat towing company and he always towed with the boats next to each other. They would throw out bumpers and tie the sterns and bows togather. He claimed that it made for easier docking and also claimed you could get it close to a trailer. I guess he used to tow in cold water as this method tends to keep you out of the water.

That will always be a classic! And Janice and the kids haven't been back to CSM since!

First, I'd to reduce as much weight in boat being towed and would tranfer all persons(except for one) out of the boat being towed and into the boat doing the towing. Also make sure the towed boat has emptied out all ballasts.

I do have a question for all. When pulling someone else’s boat, any comment about attaching life preservers or other items to the rope at the connectio point to the towed boat in the event the bow connection point on the towed boat breaks off and becomes a lethal projection to those in the boat doing the towing? Sometimes the rope is under high tension, especially when hitting waves, and not knowing the condition of the other boat it seems prudent to somehow take this into consideration. A life jacket or buoy would probably slow the object down considerably.
