Only 400+ hours salt water boat. I bought the boat this way from the second owner. Pretty sure it was an exhaust manifold, going to pressure test them this weekend. When I tore down the motor the internals looked darn good with the exception of the water that sat in there for a year!

Did a lot of homework and made quite a few phone calls. Almost pulled the trigger with Jasper as I was getting a good vibe. With the core charge Jasper's quote was over 3K. First Mate Marine, which BTW just does marine motors, has me out the door for $2270

That is a considerable difference in price, and often-times that is the deciding factor in making a purchase.

Did you get an in depth description about the warranties offered? At first glance a do see some striking differences they make the Jasper a better buy if you have issues.

Jasper has the better warranty. They're both transferable, but Jasper is 18 months vs 12 with First Mate. And with Jasper, if you do the job late in the season then take the boat out of service they'll start the warranty coverage the following season. Hopefully I can get my act together and have this boat for sale by mid June.

Right on, the thing that I read that kind of scared me was the prorated warranty from first mate.

This is over the last couple days...

Did not get a pic of the bilge pump installed. Not very exciting anyway.

New starter...

Started the teak last night...

Continued today, got 1 coat of oil on today. This is going to be a quick and dirty job as the entire thing is going to get taken apart at the end of summer. The thing sat for 10 yrs and is trashed.

And a clip of it running for fun...
