I scraped all the old glue to the insulation on my motor box. Next I'll make the templates and apply the new McMaster-Carr sound insulation that everyone has used on the engine box forum.

Took the vinyl off one side to replace with the correct vinyl.

Now I see I need to do more buffing before the new goes back on......

The weather finally broke here in Michigan over the weekend a bit. Got the 07 X2 home yesterday and started in on all the projects I decided I would tackle for this year. First up was flipping the ballast pumps. The starboard pump was pretty easy as I was replacing it with a new pump due to some noise I was hearing last year. As suspected there was some corrosion from where water had been leaking out of the pump head onto the pump motor. The port pump was more difficult as the flexible tubing from the tank to the pump was too short to connect to the new position without kinking. Lucky for me I had purchased more tubing when I had considered relocating the pumps and was able to get everything reconnected. Should be interesting to see how everything works once it's back in the water.

I installed a new optima.

The blue top lasted since 5-2007 so a good long life. Bought a yellow top as I do not use the marine terminals on my stereo battery.

The yellow had the same ca and cca and was $25 cheaper.

Replaced my busted trailer winch and installed a spare tire carrier so I can carry my spare on the trailer instead of in the truck.

If there had been any doubt, I was convinced I have the coolest girlfriend on Earth last night. 2 weeks ago she came out to ski with us and conspired with Kyle to put neons in the boat while we were away on vacation! So, with the passing of a close friend Sunday, this was a really nice pick me up.

Here are a few pics:

Oh yeah and lets not forget two of the best buddies - Kyle and Phntmski for the secret install!
