Question about the draft

Hi,

I have a question about the draft; I got 2 different answers from 2 different dealership, so I don’t know which one is the good one.

Does the 22 inch of draft is the max water the boat will take (for a 2006 X9)? Example if we load the boat (9 persons + the stuff) will it take more water than 22 inch?

My problem is that I only have 26 inch of water at the end of my dock…

I wish I could have this mastercraft X9!!!!

Thanks

IIRC, the advertised draft is the water level measured down to the lowest point underwater (prop) of the boat, sitting still, with the only load aboard it would have when it came off the assembly line. Any added gas, ballast, people, gear, etc. will make the draft increase and sit lower in the water (more draft).

I would think you could work with that, depending on how big the area is that is only 26 inches -- how brutal the bottom is (sand or mud versus rock, etc) and how your boat would sit in the dock area. For example, a boat with a 22 inch draft would require even less water for the front of boat for example. Also, another 4 inches of sitting in the water would require a lot of extra weight, so 4 inches is perhaps not as exacting as you might think.

An X-9, and I have one, is pretty easy to move by hand in shallow waters when the draft issue is touchy.

Thanks Age Fighter,

The bottom is mud; if I press I reach 30 inches of water before hitting something solid,

But on the way to the end of shallow water I have some big rocks where I have only 26 inches of water (and I cannot move them)

Do you love your X9? Do you slalom with?

Question about the draft
From the outside I thought this thread was about something else

What about traffic on the water and wakes? a boat bouncing up and down from wakes uses more than 22" of draft and could hit on a busy day if that's the case.
