1976 MasterCraft
we have recently had the above craft stolen. it's a "Stars & Stripes" edition, restored, but with a few years use on it since. it's in excellent condition but not perfect. can anyone tell me a fair value on it? NADA gives app.$2400. the owner says $10,000. need input. thanks...mike.

Depends on the quality of the restoration but typically that would be between a 7k and 10k boat if you could find one.....
Pre 77 MC's are darn rare....

You can not rely on NADA for things like this. Need a professional watercraft appraiser. I don't know any, but I'm sure they are out there. They will find comparable ones that sold to estimate a value.

Can you get any pics of it to show what kind of shape it was in?

Absolutely, the NADA value represents something fictitious on a boat of that age. A dealer would not typically sell that boat to report a value..............and.......as i mentioned earlier.........a pre 77 Master craft Skier is not something that the market has hundreds to choose from. there were less than 500 made most likely ........and very few survivors much less restored craft.

Sounds like this boat is was in better condition than my '76, which I paid ~$5k for. Not having seen the boat, it is my opinion that a '76 in "Excellent but not perfect" condition should be valued between $7k-9k.

Your local MC dealer may be of some assistance.
