I got the X-15. I am in the same spot you are, about 20% skier and 80% wakeboarder.
You should check out both. I didn't try out the X-2.

For the X-15, the wakeplate is key. The ski wake is skiable and the wake is awesome for wakeboarding. To get the great wake, you need to add about 2500 lbs on top of the ballast. I got the fly high system, which adds the weight I need. The filling and drianing of that system is not ideal. It works, but not as smooth as you would like.

From what I have heard the X-2 wake is great as well.

The decision will probably come down to the ski wake and what boat you like best. The 2 boats are pretty different. The X-15 is pretty big inside. I ride in a large body of water and also use my boat to cruise to distant bars, etc - I round the X-15 to be more seaworthy and a better all around family boat. The pickle fork can't really deal with bigger waves you will find in large bodies of water.

I have the X-15 and it is a great all around boat. You will need the wake plate for ski wake. We looked at the X-2 as well, but my wife wanted a smoother ride. The interior is huge and great for the whole family.

I would say all of the same as above (ballast, trim tab, etc), and every X-2 owner will tell you they love their boat. They are both great boats. We are usually on our boat for the day with 8 people, so we love the X-15. When you demo both boats, take the whole family and a couple friends, if that's how you will use it.

If you are considering a pre-owned, I saw a nice 2005 X10 at www.bhmtrilakes.com that may still be there and worth looking at.
Just a thought as they ski and board well.

I beg to differ on the X2 , I have been chased off of Lake George many times and have run the lenth of the lake at 35MPH and it hadled everything from chop to boat wakes W/O a single bang. I sold a 24' boat to get this little 20' and it rides AS good as the 24

The wakeboard wake is awesome and the ski wake is not as good but doable also you can't compare the room and storage in an X2 to any inboard, Just my 2 cents Ride the X2 before you pull the trigger
