2001 X-Star vs others?

I am looking at possibly buying a 2001 X-star V-drive with just under 400 hours....There is also a 2004 Malibu Wakesetter XLV V-drive with a few hours less on it in the area....Both of these boats are listed for approximately $30K...Any opinions? Would I be better off looking at a new boat (mooba mobius outback) with warranty for approximately the same price?

I am suremost will lean towards the MC seeing as where we are here, but seeing as this is more of an old vs. new question, hope to get some objective opinions....

30k for a 2001 X Star is a bit much in my opinion. Most here will not say nice things about the Bu and the moomba is simply a price point boat like buying a kia instead of a buick.

My $.02

I guess I am just concerned about having to dump a bunch more money into something....I am admittedly not too knowledgable about a 2001 MC vs. a 2004 Bu vs. new Moomba reliability/lifespan....Just want to be sure I can get quite a few years out of the purchase....

Consensus is that an older MC will hold it's value pretty well. But $30K sounds high for an 01. I don't know anything about the bu. I'd personally stay away from a new moomba.

The hull of the 01 XStar is the same as the older 205V's and todays X1 and is recognized as a fantastic wb wake.

I just did a NADA value on the 2001 X-star w/all equip and its telling me $25K. The NADA for the Bu is $32K....Both are listed for $29.9K...

I bought a '02 X-star three years ago for 30. I agree with Maristart 210 and JohnE that the price is high, especially given the tough economic times. A friend of mine has a Bu and really likes it. It seems to be a nice boat.

I personally am not a fan of the Moomba's, their only attraction is the price. I decided on a used MC rather than a new Moomba.

Are you set on buying locally? There is a Boat in Denver that you might like. I already locked in to one in TX or i would be looking seriously at this one myself.
