'85 S&S gelcoat

I've been looking at restoring an '85 S&S. It is a cream color with blue stripes. I looked at the Spectrum chart and couldn't find any cream colored gelcoat for that year. Any ideas?

this is just my understanding, i could be wrong. MC had gelcoat problems in '85. My boat is supposed to be bright red, but after 1 year it had faded to orange. It hasn't faded any more since then. I'm guessing it basically just "went bad". I've bought some 3M Super Duty rubbing compound to try and buff it out, but with all of the other stuff i've tried, I've had no luck making it red again. So chances are your boat was white.

I guess that's possible but the interior is a cream color too. Does anybody out there have an '85 in this color??

Gelcoat

Not sure where to get that but Waterski magazine did an article about rebuilding an '80's vintage Mastercraft about 3-4 years. You might contact them and see if they can lead you in the right direction.

Terry,
I have seen a cream 85 and a white and blue 85. I would guess, if you have a cream interior.... than your boat was cream. I have a grey 86 that has the oritional grey interior. I need to detail mine... but no major fade... Can't help on the gel-coat color. Good Luck.
