RH vs LH Starter

All this talk about starters has me curious. How do you know whether you have a RH or LH starter?

Yeah me too and my starter is on the starboard side. Just curious on this. Someone probably knows.

Do you mean which way it turns? Can't you start the prop and work back? Why do you ask?

I believe it depends on engine rotation. Most MC's are LH (not sure about the VD's). CC are RH also.
