Looking for a new(er) ski boat...Need Advice

Looking to spend a max of $25k on a ski/wakeboard boat for the family. I've had an 88 Tri-Star as well as a 99 PS 205 in the past and loved both...hence the reason I want to stick with MC.

We typically haul myself, wife, son and 1 or 2 of my sons friends and a dog or 2. We split time between slalom and wakeboarding.

I've always liked the PS207, 209 and 205V series as well as the Maristar. Is there a stand out favorite amongst these as a great all around IYHO that doesnt sacrifice a nice slalom wake and has ample room for the crew?

All I can say is that it is too bad that you got rid of your '99 PS 205. That would have my vote for the best boat to meet your requirements. I am somewhat biased on this though for obvious reasons!

I agree on the 205 - great all around boat. I have the 209 and love it as well. We can fit a lot of stuff and people in this boat. A 197 or x-7 may do the job for you as well - just a little more crowded. We do everything behind our 209 - slalom, wakeboard - we have a tower, knee board, surf and barefoot.

I'd vote for the X7. It has the 197 slalom wake, plus those wakeboarding gadgets all you guys like, like a tower and ballast.

Used X-7 or X-9 is the way to go...

Older X-star or X-2 would get my vote. The 197/209's will be a better slalom wake but IMHO everything aspect will not be as good as the v-drive. (interior room, rough water ride, wakeboarding/surfing wake, resale, etc.) Plenty of top speed for footing too.

You could maybe install a wake plate to help flatten out the slalom wake.

197/ X7 is too small for that crew. 205 would be my choice.

X-Star or X2. Lots of room and storage for a whole day on the water with the best overall wake around. You may be a little light on cash for a newer X2.
