Buying/Selling online

I recently sold an item to an individual online. He got the item but now says he wants to send it back and me send him back his money. I asked him the reason and he stated that it will not work for him. He asked me questions before hand and I answered them being truthful and not misleading. My ad was not misleading and truthful as well. My question is am I being a richard head for just wanting to tell him tough crap because it is what I told him and not my fault he didn't do his due diligence and make sure it would work for him? I would completely understand if I lied to him or item wasn't as promised but that is not the case. It's not that I don't believe I could sell the item again just don't want to go through the hassle again. Thanks for your input.

Kinda depends on the price range and what it is.

If he bought it, paid shipping and then decided it won't work for him....I'd probably give him his money back provided he pays for the shipping. Again, depends on what it is and new/used.

How did you sell it? Craigslist/Ebay?

Unless it was a close friend, I'd tell him to re-sell it himself. Sorry, but unless there's a return policy (which there isn't) you're not required to give any refunds.

The thing I'd be concerned with, is if he used paypal they may lock up your account. Make sure any money is out of your paypal account in case the guy takes some action that way.

I hear what you're saying but it would depend a lot on what the item is and what it looked like when the item was returned to me. I certainly wouldn't pay any of the shipping either direction. In the end it's not worth the downside with PayPal should the guy go 2 year old on you and file untrue complaints.

I'd tell him to sell it himself. I am curious as to what the item is.

It was an older perfect pass system sold through ski-it-again. He said it won't work for him because he wanted one that was GPS. I never stated that it was. That's my hang up on the deal. If it didn't work or wasn't as advertised I would have no problem but to buy it then state it won't work for him because he wanted a different model shouldn't be my issue.

Guess what pal. It's yours!

I have sold dozens of restored dirt bikes and only had two idiots that thought they were getting a brand new bike. Two PayPal disputes, two dispute victories. +400 positive feedback.

As is where is, all sales final, no returns!

He needs to resell it on his own, as he owns it now. His problem it did not have GPS. IMO

Another idea would be to let him know that he could upgrade the Perfect Pass to run on GPS with THIS KIT from NauticLaugic. I connected one to my Perfect Pass last summer and it works great!
