Eskimo Escapades Foundation is a not for profit that presents a winter water ski/wakeboard USA WaterSki Fun Tournament each January in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. This is our 15th year (January 10, 2009) so we have partnered with MasterCraft to raffle a 2009 X-1 Wakeboard boat. Guessing that there is not a donated boat.

In another unrelated event, a dealer established raffle ticket price, and donated to charity AFTER the expenses were fully covered. IE, $60,000 boat + $5000 expenses, all proceeds over $65000 go to charity.

I have gone to this even every year. My son and I both wakeboard. I can tell you that we love what they are doing for the kids. I will go even this year after we have moved. I would like to see others from here come if they can make it!

Come on over and ski the event, its lots of fun, and for a great cause. BTW MC is not giving the boat away, the Pat Neal foundation is purchasing it at a discount from MC using the proceeds of the ticket sales.

For the comment about MC being at the top of the EEF page, they will be when we finish updating the site with this year's sponsors. We are an all volunteer organization, and we were just able to go "live" with selling tickets last Friday. So MC will be our presenting sponsor but we wanted to release the ticket sales as soon as we could. We should have the sponsors for this year completed (and MC at the top) in the next week or so. Plus, I don't think our deal with MasterCraft is really the issue, the issue is we are selling 1000 tickets for $100 each. You give $100 to a great charity, and you get a 1,000 chance to win a really awesome boat. You can do the math to see we will raise $100,000 if we sell all 1,000 tickets. We fulfill our obligations with MC and donate the rest to our charities along with proceeds from the event itself. This is a great event for a great cause. The Dream Connection sponsors dreams for seriously ill kids in East Tennessee. The Pat Neal IRC provides equipment and volunteers so that people with spinal cord injuries or brain injuries can participate in recreational activities, including water skiing. We added one more charity that most of us have been volunteering with for 8 years and that is the Adventure Amputee Camp. Alot of IRC volunteers travel to Fontana Lake in NC (prettiest lake I've ever seen) to take about 30 amputee kids water skiing the last day of their camp. This year we are going to donate money to help pay the costs for as many campers as we can. Even before this boat raffle, we have been the largest winter water ski charity event in the country based on other USA WaterSki sanctioned Fun tournaments. We really work hard, and we are VERY excited about this boat raffle. The boat is absolutely beautiful, and we are so thankful to Scott Crutchfield and Jason Boertje for working with us to make this happen.

Sure you folks from Canada can win! You just have to come to lovely East Tennessee to pick up the boat if you win. Seriously, you give $100 to charity and add it to your tax deductions for the year. You have a 1 in 1,000 chance (if we sell all 1,000 tickets) to win the boat. MC has worked with us so that this is going to be a great event and we are going to raise a lot of money. Go Big Orange! Tomorrow is going to be a big (tough) game!
