Mobil one synthetic oil
Was at wally-world today and noticed they had ow-30 synthetic oil. I normally use 10-w30, synthetic. Is it ok to use the "ow" version or do I need to go hunt down the 10-w30, which they didnt appear to carry anymore..

You need to go hunt down 15W40 CI-4+.
The 0W30 Mobil One would probably be OK for your lawn mower, though.

I'm sure your dealer is very smart, but I'd switch back to the oil that the ENGINE MANUFACTURER recommends.

Synthetic oil is pretty much a waste of money in this application. Yes. The 15W40 is a diesel oil.

The Mobil sythetic that I use is 15W-50. 0W-30 is for severe cold weather applications and will not do as good of a job protecting high rpm applications like marine engines. Rule of thumb: W = winter. This represents the cold temp rating of the oil. 15W-50 has a broader scope of protection over 15W-40. It will protect better if your engine ever over heats.
