2007 Maristar 230 Ballast

Gents,
Looking for a quick ballast addition to our clean Maristar 230. Just added a tower, looking for a quick surf boost ballast add before the lakes harden! No stock ballast. Think a 800lb sack in a single rear locker would make a significant difference? Thanks much,
Steve

What tower did you end up with? I think an 800 would make your boat surfable.

Aric'sX15,
We went with the New Dimensions tower. Picked it up today, really happy with how it turned out. Hope to have it in the water Sunday, may pick up a ballast bag tomorrow

I would measure out the LXWXH of the locker and buy the biggest bag that will fit. All the manufacturer's list the dimensions of their bags. You don't have to fill it full and you have got extra capacity if you ever need it. When a big bag is deflated it doesn't really take up any more space than a small bag.

Mine is a 99 230 so the hull design may be a bit different. I use 2 750's one in the port locker the other on the port side seat and a 350 tube sack up front. I probably need a little more up front. With this weight and usually three people we have a decent wave that's very surfable.

We bought one 8.3 800lb sack today. Will try it in a single rear locker and go from there!

Looks like the only option to put weight up front is to put a sack on the floor. Hopefully that will work, we bought a second 800lb sack today.
