WetSounds on a 2004 X-30

Has anyone installed WetSounds Speakers on a 2004 Mastercraft X-30? I was about to purchase some and install them but someone told me I would not be able to open and close the Bimini because they hang too low.
My first pick was the WetSounds 3-Some speakers that hang down about 20".

i have an 03 X-2 and recently had my boat in a local custom installer's shop to install an amp, sub and dual battery setup. i will be adding tower speakers later this year and was originally looking at the Pro 80's. not sure if you've seen these up close yet, but they're pretty big!!!

i've since decided to keep my eyes out for anything new between now and then, and if that doesn't pan out, i'll opt for the pro 60's. they're not as loud, have a little less mid-bass, don't have quick disconnects, but they're a much better size for my tower imo and will be plenty loud enough for me. the 3-some setup is pretty ridiculous. i assume you realize just how much juice you need to run to that setup? it's a lot if you want it to sound right. can you lower your bimini or or raise it to the backside of the speakers?

i'd email wetsounds and see if you have a local dealer. go give them a listen and see if they'll let you see what they look like on your tower. any good dealer will do that for you.

Just measured my 04 x30 there is 21" to the bimini from the tower at the closest point.

Thanks for the input. A friend of mine also said I should consider going with 4 of the Pro-60s instead. TX when you measured did you measure with it up? Did you check the clearance when putting it up and down? I guess I need to get off my lazy butt and go measure. I take my boat out 3 - 4 times a week but I have been too lazy to take the tape measure with me.

yeah, let us know what you end up doing. the bummer on the pro 60's is they're not all that much cheaper.

Look into the NVS speakers as well. I've heard good things about both Wetsounds and NVS. www.nvs1.net
(My buddy has Wetsounds on his X-1, they sound great!)

I measured with bimini up and did think about when it is up and the extra clearence needed to open it. It was 150 degrees out when I measured so it was a quick deal. Never thought I would have a problem so now I need to figure this out before I change my stuff too.
