I cracked three ribs falling on my stick a few years ago. I think my newest vest may have helped cushion some of the blow (I have an O'Brien ballistic-looking one now) but my old vest was one of those old-school pads sewn together kinds.

Good luck getting back on your skis. It took me a month and a half off the water, and gingerly getting back up there.

Now, the busted eardrum was another matter.

Broken ribs are nasty. It can take a LONG time to get fully functional again.

Yep! This is the 3rd time for the same side. I need some of those carbon fiber ribs installed

You can get those, plus other nifty upgrades for about $6 million. Of course, afterward you'd have to end up working for the government...
