Lead additive for gas
Just wondering if anyone else still uses a lead additive in the gas on their older "lead fuel only" engines. I've been told it's no longer necessary. Old habits I guess.

Take a look at this thread, it goes into some detail on lead.

I am 99% certain in 86 (year of my boat) they had hardened valve seats. Regardless, I am not to worried about it. Several years ago I had a 78 Bronco with a 400m in it. I ran unleaded for about 80k hard miles in it and zero problems, that motor did not have hardened valve seats in it.
