Changing out distributor, points, rotor, and condenser

'89 Tristar 190, 351, 1:1. Just got the parts from skidim, and am tackling the project tonight. Is there anything magic about this? I read somewhere (probably on this board) that I need to put some dielectric grease on the rotor, and also have to gap the points correctly. If so, does anyone know the correct numbers? And is there anything else to look out for? I'm sure this is pretty basic stuff, but it's been 20 years since I did this (ouch, that hurts). Pontiac Grand Ville, 455 - because a 454 was just too wimpy. The good ol' days. Thanks.

Send the points back to SkiDIM and have them send you an electronic ignition kit. Replace the points with electronic and then you don't have to worry about gap dwel etc. Best $90 you will spend.

I have never greased the rotor.

Electronic igintion is the way to go. Did it on my 84 nautique which I owned previously - started and ran like a champ and no more replacing points? Cost is right too!

One more for the electric ignition. Simple install and gives you improved performance. In my mind, the way to go.

Electronic ignition is the way to go, minus the plugs, my last tune-up took about 10 minutes, and that included atleast one trip to the fridge for a fresh beverage.
