If you don't have a boom, it's a great way to teach someone. This is how my son learned and he footed his first try.

Just kidding. Barefooting is CRAZY!!! I've never tried it and I am pretty sure I never will, but I always take a moment or two to watch someone barefooting, or a good slalom skier.
