Prostar 'EVO' hull changes?

Hey all-

I am looking at purchasing a 'newer' PS190. Probably something from 2001 or newer. Can anyone tell me if there has been any significant hull changes from 2001 to current? I am having a hard time finding any info regarding this. I ask this because I just saw a '01 PS190 for sale that said it had been modified to the 2006 hull specs.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, in 2003 (I think?) MC added more hook to the hull and changed the rudder. The hook is basically a small lip added to the bottom of the transom that lifts the rear of the boat at speed so the wake is better. The new rudder made the boat handle much better as well. Only downside was a decrease in top speed, which really only matters to barefooters.

The hooked EVO hull made its first appearance on the 2002 Tournament Team 190/197 and was standard on all production model 190s/197s 2003 and forward. A wedged rudder was substitued for the foilded rudder previously used for lifting. In addition to lower top end, the hooked hull was a little harder on fuel economy (or at least so I have read).

In 2005, throttle by wire was standard on boats equipped with the MCX or higher. Perfect Pass went through about 11 or so updates that year.

In 2006, another rudder change was made for further improved handling (went from the wedged to rounded rudder).

I read yesterday that the newer TT EVOs were lighter by a couple of hundred pounds, but I have not seen any official information in this regard.

Any 2001--2001 EVO hull can be modified with a hook and rudder upgrade (rough estimate on cost is around $1,000 or more for both).
