Prop pitch

Can someone explain what "pitch" is and how it is calculated? Is it degrees from "?" or what?

Also, higher pitch number like 20 equals better or worse hole shot? 20 being compared to 14...

14 more hole shot less top end higher rpm's if your rpms are close to the limit you usually get a "higher" pitched prop.

"pitch" refers to the distance the prop will travel forward in one revolution. So a 20" pitch prop will move 20" in one revolution (it's actually less than 20" due to losses)

Higher pitch = worse hole shot IIRC
