For mastercraft there are 3 boat lines, Prostar, Maristar, X series.

The X series boats have the wakeboard package on them, which includes graphics, ballast tanks, and towers.

The Prostars are the ski boats, and the Maristars are the Larger V-Drive boats.

Some of the X Series boats are just wake versions of the maristar and prostar boats, such as X7 which is a prostar 197 in wakeboard trim.

Or the 215 VRS and the X15.

So often its just the addition of wake graphics, tower and ballast.

You can also order say a Prostar 197 with the wakeboard accessories, but the Prostar graphics (none of that tribal jazz) And Maristars will have a different level of trim.

Many who prefer a more classic lined boat get a standard Maristar with the tower and ballast.

I am looking at an X2 vs Maristar 200 X2 (this is what the dealer is labeling it)

Well its a difference of trim.

The first boat (the BAWS boat) is an X2 wakeboard logos and all.

The second is a Maristar 200 that has alot of the X series boat features and some graphics tweaks. Still an interior with the 200 stiched into the passenger seat.

If I were buying a boat I would go for one like duck guy's just because I prefer the way those graphics look.

Otherwise, with the same engine its the same boat.

It would appear that the ebay boat from the TN MC dealership does not have the swivel board racks on ... whereas the boat @BAWS has the board racks ...

MYMC,

So is the X or the Mari the better resale value?

I'm guessing X since that's the most popular...

The X boat is always worth more...and remember there is no add in the NADA for adding all the equipment to a MariStar to make it an X, it will always be a MariStar no matter what you bolt to it. Funny because to make a MariStar or ProStar into an X boat actually costs MORE than to just buy an X.
