Prop question

Anyone on here using the Acme # 543 prop. It is 13 X 11.5.
Jim at acme recommended this one for me on my 93 205 when using a lot of ballast (2000 lbs).
With out a lot of ballast he recommended acme #541 13 X 12
I am just curious of the difference in rpms, and top end speed. To my 13 X 13

Fast as hell hole shot, top ends out at 65-70 mph

I have not read any comments on an acme prop for the powerslot tranny.I'm calling acme this morning to get size info,but would like to here feed back from a powerslot owner.One of the other sites thought that if you have a powerslot you should go to the four blade regardless of brand.Please someone anyone?

My MasterCraft is a 1986 19' 351 PCM with Powerslot.
I've just got an e-mail from Bill Weeks at ACME and he says that 4-blade is the only way to go for the Powerslot.

He recommended a:
Acme 381 13.5 L 17.5 four blade nibral 1 1/8" bore .105 cup.

rem, George used the 13x11.5 on his 93 190 S&S so he could get a little more hole shot (short course setup). If I recall, he may have had some initial issues with overreving the engine, but it wasn't a problem as long as he watched the tach. I'm sure he'll clarify this for you.

As for the four blade on a powerslot, I don't know. I think they recommend four blades for v-drives, but I'm not sure about gear reduction. I've had exceptional performance from my 3 blade, but, again, I'm running 1:1.

Thanks for the quick reply.It sure would be nice if someone had already installed one of these on their reduction trannys before I drop the big bucks.An opion other than the manafacturer is always nice.Thanks guys!

Has anyone tried the 13X12.65? I am debating this for my 94 205 in effort to gain some top end. I wonder what this will do to the rpm's?
If it lowers them too much I may lose top speed.

What prop do you have at the moment???

I have an OJ 14 x 18 4 blade nibral. Iím looking to replace it due to a bad dent on one of the blades. The vibration is incredible at high speeds!!!! Iím thinking of buying a second prop and sending the OJ to be repairedÖ.. Two props are better that oneÖÖ.Right??? But it looks like Iíll be staying with the 4 blade. Iíll let you know if things go ahead as planned.
