Subaru AWD should be OK for short drives to the ramp.*I have a 2000 X5 (a bit heavier than a 1992 PS190) and my Volvo V70 XC AWD does it with ease. The boat (and trailer) is 300lb heavier than max towing capacity of the car (3600lb vs 3300lb) but for 1-2 KM the tranny won't overheat.
My father has a Legacy AWD and it pulls very well despite the 4 cyl.
