I'm not sure it has anything to do with that, but they're all idiots. They think they're too cool to be "bothered" with calling for a ride. Her dad being a liquored mess has a lot to do with this, I'm sure. Her mom, being a total freakshow, is another big reason. Add living in/near LA and you have the trifecta.
