Get your Bimini Out of the Way
We got tired of walking around our Bimini when the boat was in the garage and the bimini was laying on the direct-drive engine cover. Attached are pics of my solution. The chain is plastic and I might get rid of the bungee cord and just buy a longer piece of chain to make it look better.
Since the boat isn't in the EXACT same location each time we put the boat away, I wanted a solution that allowed for that. The wallboard anchors shown work great and don't even require a pilot hole to be drilled first. You will see that I hit a stud on my first attempt, hence the small patch job. |

Those wall anchors are the best! Those appear to be the 30lb ones? I've got them all over my house mainly in the closets holding up our shelving.

I remember the days when the idea was to find the studs. ![]() Last edited by JR34; 07-16-2007 at 08:38 PM. |

Pretty cool idea. Mine sits right under the garage door opener, so I just lean it up against it...but I will keep it in mind for my next garage.
