Rain, rain, rain, man our car is dirty, but it's clearing now and turning colder with highs in the 30's and 40's!

Right now, -4F/-20C and windy (about 30MPH), so I'm not going outside for anything, unless I really need to. We've already gotten over 30" of snow and if it keeps up, it'll be a record-breaking month. We had 49.5" in December of 2000.

We crossed the lake today near our launch ramp and not a boat/trailer in sight. 40 degrees and wind gusting here at 40 mph, with 2' waves and white caps. No way, plus the lake is still down 3'.
Apparently the coal fired steam station is now using up a bunch of lake water and they blow most of the steam out the stacks to clean them rather than returning 100% back into the cooling lake before it returns to the main lake. All part of the plant modernization and the addition of two more stacks added to the original two stacks. They are trying to eliminate the soot/ash dust/sulfur/selenium that has managed to keep the reproductive systems of most of the fish in the lake all screwed up. Only the backwater tributaries and channels have abundant marine life, yet it is published that it is one of the cleanest/purest lakes on the East Coast. I hope by Spring the lake levels are up to normal with all the rain we have been having.
