Help - How to Install new Impeller??

OK, how the heck do I install the new impeller on my 06 X2? I lubed it up with the grease that came with the new impeller, finally squeezed it into the pump, but I can't get enough leverage to get it all the way in. Any one have any tricks to offer?

For a vdrive, I think many would say an impeller removal tool is worth its weight in gold. You might try paint can openers.

That's a water based lube, so add some water, pull the kill switch, and spin the engine over for a second to get the pump housing good and slippery.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

I've had to lightly tap it to get mine to go back in that last 1/2 to inch.
