Dont think youll tow 7700 lbs with the V6?
We have and 09 V6 (company car) and it is great. No issues, and it does tow my X1 great. Good mileage also... |

Not sure which engine he is looking at, but I think it comes with a diesel and a V8.

I see, there is a 7,700* on all engine options, but I don't see what the * is for?

I have the petrol V8. We will shortly have the V8 diesel in our country and I will be going for that only for better mileage. I do not know about the US but the V6 does not come with low range in SA.
The petrol V8 has been solid. It is a 2004 model and still going strong. The engine is solid because no turbo's. Mine eats brakes and they are costly. Must have air suspension, it helps on those steep driveways and launches. As far as towing is concerned it is the best I have drivin. The air suspension compensates for a lot of bumps in the road. |

Air suspension is a must in my books as it allows for a level load etc. You'll need a 3/4" raised tow hitch for the mastercraft trailer to sit level on the comfort setting. Again 2008 was the last year of the air suspension. If you want new you have to go with q7 or pepper for air ride. Maybe a range rover. Steel suspension will do for short hauls, just not best for long trips or when you load up the truck with goods and load weight in rear. We have 55k miles on ours and not one problem. the 04 we had and 08 have been great... treat it well and it will treat you well in return. ![]()
