Who is the jerk that is taking up 2 parking spots?
![]() I guess you can do that when you own the parking lot.

If only my boat had closed cooling, I would have considered towing it to Baja (glass every day in Conception Bay -until mid-afternoon anyway)

My 2008 LY6 TT 197 had no mufflers in it because it was one of the first built and the mufflers were no available yet from the vender so MC did not install them at the time. Later in the year i could have had them installed ,but Liked the it was. It sounded like you at the drag strip it was awsome!! 2009 LY6 got better had mufflers 2010 LY6 very quite and smooth as butter.

Oh and the LT-1 doesn't have an unreliable $500 in tank fuel pump that's sportin a $40 filter that takes 2 hrs to change. Still pushes TPI injectors though, easy to access pump, gotta be way less than $400-500 to replace and $6 Autozone fuel filters. Trans and steering are similar technology too. As far as ski and driveability, while I've never driven a 197 and think they're a sweet boat, I'm going to go out on a limb and say an LT1-slot 190 will pull as good or better than a MCX and damn near as hard as a LY6. I've only pulled up 5 fat guys deep water start at the same time with a LT1 1:1, but I can't see needing more pones than that. And the 190 will definately cut as tight of a turn as any ski boat out there. Guess you couldn't get Stargzer and pre plumbed ballat in 1995 though. Size, yes, the 190 is smaller.

.When I bought it, it wa parked on the West facing side of a garage in Phoenix AZ with a tattered cover, completely oxidized gel on that side of the boat and when I saked the owner if it had been garaged, he was honest and said "not in the last 4 years since I moved to Phx, but I have gone thru 3 covers." Pics were taken last fall.

Ya'll think that era vinyl is bad?
Try early 2000's.. ![]() My '02 X9 that has been well cared for is littered with small (less than .5") tears. Mag_Red - I hear you bro. When I compare to my neighbor's '85 S&S or other neighbor's '89 Tristar, that each have ZERO tears after many more years, it's a little frustrating. Anyway- without turning this into another whiney vinyl thread- old boat is the way to go ![]()
